SMART CITIES AND TECHNOLOGY

As electric vehicles explode in popularity, charging infrastructure needs to expand rapidly in coming years.

Based on The U.S. Department of Energy, tens of thousands of electric vehicles (EV) charging stations are available in the United States. These charging stations are being installed in key areas throughout the country for public charging and workplace charging to supplement to residential charging. However, most EV owners do most of their charging at home.

As electric vehicles (EV) popularity grows, there has been a call to action and expand the network of charging stations. There is a worry that there might not be sufficient charging stations for electric car drivers to charge and go. The charging station network has been expanded in New York by Governor Hochul and even throughout the United States by the Biden Administration to remedy this issue and keep up with the sustainable future of electric vehicles. These actions are significant as they accommodate, reassure and encourage prospective and current dependents of these charging stations.
